Pennsylvania Kiwanis District Rose Sale The 2008 PA Kiwanis Foundation Rose Sale is a fundraiser that takes place in the fall. More information about it will be available in the summer, so please check back then. The Rose Sale is a great way to work and interact with your Kiwanis Club.

What is the Rose Sale?

  • A easy way for Key Clubs to raise lots of money!
  • An annual opportunity for the District Kiwanis Foundation to fund scholarships, etc.

  • Pennsylvania District Kiwanis Foundation
    • Key Club Scholarships ($ awarded each year at the Key Club District Convention)
    • Children's Heart & Health Program


Rose How does it work?

  • Club members solicit local businesses / corporations, parents, friends, and neighbors to purchase roses (Sales idea: Business / Institutional partnerships large & small are the best way to maximize profits. These could be as large as an Army depot or as small as your beautician / barber.) Use your imagination!


Essentials

  • Cost: $17 per dozen
    • $7 stays with your club (Key Club keeps this amount)
    • $10.00 to the District Foundation (club forwards check for $10 x number of dozen ordered)
      • Foundation covers all expenses including the supplier cost per dozen roses and design / printing costs for promotional materials
  • Minimum Order: 10 dozen per club
    • Additional orders in increments of 10 dozen
  • Orders due (In order to guarantee quality; no extensions allowed!):
    • 1. Either at your sponsoring Kiwanis Club September 28
    • 2. Or sent to arrive on or before October 3, in Harrisburg, at the PA Kiwanis District Office. No exceptions for any reason to the October 3 date!
      • All orders must be paid in advance!
      • Check to Foundation must accompany order—roses will be shipped based on this payment
  • Rose Arrival Date: Thursday, October 25

Included with Roses

  • One dozen multi-colored roses
  • White 24" glossy box with Kiwanis Logo printed on box
  • Baby's breath, tree fern, preservative
  • 24" × 36" sheet of green wax paper
  • Gold elastic cord (with bow)
  • Kiwanis Foundation "Thank you" / Information card and rose care extended life instructions


Rose Timeline

  • March 23-25—PA Key Club convention promotion
  • June 1—All information/forms, including supply order form available on this page.
  • June 1 / August 1—Your Key Club Coordinator & committee named.
  • August 1—Key Club action plans in place & ready to go. Supply order form submitted.
  • August 27—Rose Sale begins.
  • September 28—Rose Sale ends. Final Club order form and payment sent to sponsoring Kiwanis or October 3—Sent directly to PA District Kiwanis office, arriving on or before October 3.
    ABSOLUTELY NO EXTENSIONS FOR ANY REASON IN 2008
  • October 25—Roses delivered to Kiwanis Division drop points. Key Clubs pick up orders and distribute to their customers.


Goals

  • 140 K-Family clubs realizing proceeds from this year's sale
  • Raising funds for our Foundation
  • Spread the Kiwanis Family name throughout Pennsylvania
