Meet Morgan, a passionate volunteer who was "born into the Kiwanis Family". Along with her family and friends, Morgan can be found doing service in the Wyoming Area. One of her favorite projects is reading to young children at a local daycare that her Kiwanis Club recently adopted: "The Kiwanians and Key Clubbers go to the daycare and read to the pre-school children. While we are there we talk to the school aged children about service being an important value in life." Thus, it comes as no surprise that she finds caring as the essential Key Club core value. "Caring is truly my way of life and is how I was raised. I was taught to treat others the way I want to be treated," says Morgan.
Morgan joined Key Club after her two years in Builder's Club, during which she held the office of President. "After that experience, I knew I had to get further involved in the K-Family, and that next step was Key Club," she says. One thing led to another, and Morgan became the Lieutenant Governor for Division 15N last year. As a junior at Wyoming Area High School this year, with the goal of increasing communication in Division 15S and connecting her clubs like a family, Morgan ascended to a second year term as LTG then in her senior year, Morgan was elected as the District's governor. Morgan is sure to tackle this goal, as she is a very hardworking, goal-oriented person. Her sources of inspiration especially demonstrate this:
""Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off of his goal" - E. Joseph Cossman
"Focused, hard work is the real key to success. Keep your eyes on the goal, and just keep taking the next step towards completing it. If you aren't sure which way to do something do it both ways and see which works better" -John Carmack
When Morgan is not PA Key Clubbing (aka adoring her Pinky the Flamingo shrine), you can find her playing field hockey, throwing javelin for track and field, fulfilling treasurer duties with Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and participating with her church sodality!
